Waterloo hero remembered

A memorial service is being held at the grave of a soldier in Inveresk Cemetery this Thursday (18th June) at 10.45am to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.

Major William Norman Ramsay of the Royal Regiment Artillery, died in the historic battle and was buried in his family’s plot at Inveresk.

Members of the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery are travelling to the village from their base at Tidworth Camp, Wiltshire for the ceremony.

It is expected that a talk about the battle will be held in the church following the service and all are welcome to attend.
