Waterloo Warriers Challenge

Tomorrow morning, Friday 19th June 2015, at 9 am a team from the Royal Horse Artillery RHA are cycling 900k from Major Ramsay’s grave at Inveresk Cemetery to Dover; then swimming the Channel in a relay each in 1 hour stints and then running 200k to Waterloo where he died 200 years ago.

Major Karen Peek the current Battery Commander of Ramsay’s Battery (the same Battery that Ramsay commanded) gave a most interesting talk on Waterloo today in St Michael’s Church after an open air service at Major Ramsay’s grave.

She is the first woman to command a Battery of the RHA and is an Oxford graduate in history and a tri-athlete and horsewoman.

They are raising money for ABF, Army Benevolent Fund.
