Inveresk Village Walks

I have put together a programme of village walks to cover the Autumn and the period to 2016 – hopefully the weather will be kind!

The walks are open to everybody in the village and are usually about 5-6 miles long and within the Edinburgh / Lothians area.  There will be a walk once per month and the programme is below.  We will meet for all walks at the War Memorial outside St Michael’s Kirk.

Saturday 19 September – Meet at 12pm for an Inveresk / Carberry walk followed by Victorian Tea at the Church Hall in Dalrymple Loan (2-4pm with great food guaranteed and a charge of £8 per person).

Sunday 25 October – Meet at 1pm for a walk at Ratho & the River Almond followed by a meal at The Boat Inn, Ratho.

Saturday 21 November – Meet at 9.30am for a walk in the Lammermuirs

Saturday 12 December – Meet at 9.30am for a walk up Traprain Law from East Linton followed by a Christmas lunch in East Linton

I will publish final details of each walk beforehand but if anybody has any questions in the meantime please email me at andrewduncan41@gmail.com.

I look forward to seeing you on a walk!

  1. Good idea Andy having a walk at noon before the tea party in the Dalrymple Hall. I hope to join you.
Can’t do 21 November as I am attending a lunch in East Lothian with Ruth Davidson. We have this evening, at the Golf Inn Gullane, selected Rachael Hamilton, the owner of the Buccleuch Arms at St Boswell’s, to be the Conservative candidate for the Holyrood elections in 8 months time. We are having a reels evening at Luffness House on 4th November if anyone would like a ticket – no need to be a Conservative voter, come for the fun! Best Regards to all our readers. Fred Lawson.
