Burn’s Night Supper

The Inveresk Village Burn’s Night Supper seemed to be a huge success on Saturday night. Tickets sold out the week before and 64 folk gathered in St Michael’s Church Hall to be entertained by a massively talented crowd of speakers, singers, perfomers and pipers from the village. Excellent Scotch Broth, Haggis and Cranachan were supplied by Graham of the Mercat Grill in Whitecraig.

The feedback has been really positive so thanks to all those involved and thanks for all your support. And not least, thanks to all the folk who helped with the organisation and stayed back to help with all the clearing and washing up (which was helped along nicely with Ian and Alison’s Sloe and Plum gin). As well as having alot of fun, with the profits we made from this event and the raffle put together, we managed to raise £600 to donate towards the rennovation work at St Michael’s Church.

There have been calls to make this an annual event so same time next year?? The nearest Saturday to Burn’s Night is January 21st 2017, so put this date in your diary. Also let us know if you have any feedback as to how anything could be done to make it even better next year. And if you would like to get involved in the organisation or entertainment, then please comment below get in touch with Andy Duncan (andrewduncan41@gmail.com).
