The Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2016 visits Shepherd House in February. This walled artist’s garden comprises a formal rill, potagers, woodland and bulb areas. The snowdrops are largely grown in beds and borders, although there is a growing collection of ‘specialist snowdrops’. There are around 50 different cultivars, some of which will be displayed in the ‘Snowdrop Theatre’. There is also a good collection of hellebores, as well as crocus, aconites Iris unguicularis and reticulata, species tulips and many other spring flowering bulbs.
The garden will be open on 9, 11, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23 and 25th February 11am-4pm.
Price £5 (children free).
