On Sunday 19th June from 14.00-17.00, 5 private gardens, the allotments, Inveresk Lodge Gardens and St Michael’s Church will be open to raise money for various charities. The main beneficiary will be Horatio’s Garden, which creates beautiful gardens in Spinal Injury Centres.
The Open Garden Day experience has been refreshed with the addition of a Shepherd House used tool sale, croquet on the Lodge lawn and the sale in the conservatory of original Esther Tack watercolours and calendars. The paintings are all of village house and gardens. To wind down there will be an end of afternoon gig of live folk music in the Lodge garden.
As in previous years it is our plan to offer refreshments, but this time it will be in one garden only – The Green House, 15b Inveresk Village. It would provide a really good experience for visitors if we can have as much home baking as possible. If you could offer to contribute a cake, scones, buns or traybakes it would help considerably towards the whole community effort. If you can provide baked goods please contact Alison Butler at firstname.lastname@example.org, 0131 665 2878 or drop a note in at Easter Whitehouse. Alison can make arrangements to help if you are unable to bring your baking on Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th June.
