Musselburgh & District Athletics Club (MADAC) has been in existence in the town for over sixty years and we are holding an Open Evening for adults who enjoy running on Tuesday 9 May. The Open Evening will start at 7pm at Fisherrow Yacht Club.
The Seniors section and Jog Scotland group caters for runners of all abilities from beginners to seasoned marathon runners. We are a friendly and sociable bunch with coaches who can help you plan a training programme for a race or to help you start running for the first time. We enter races and events both locally and further afield or head out on social runs. The age of our membership ranges from early twenties to people in their sixties and so you will not be too young or old to give running a try!
Throughout the week we have the following dedicated sessions:
Tuesday night – We meet at 7pm at Fisherrow Yacht Club and head out for a pre-planned training session or a steady run around Musselburgh and sometimes further afield in East Lothian.
Wednesday night – This is our Jog Scotland group which meets at 6.30pm at Pinkie in the Summer and Musselburgh Sports Centre in the Winter. Jog Scotland is aimed at people who are new to running or maybe haven’t run in a while.
Our Open Evening will give you the chance to head out for a run with the rest of the group at whatever your chosen pace or to take part in a training session. We will also have members of Jog Scotland and the Seniors section available to chat to. If you don’t want to head out for a run but would like to come along to find out more about the Seniors there will be members available at Fisherrow Yacht Club from 7-8pm to give you additional information.
After the run on Tuesday 9th we will be staying back at the Yacht Club for pizza and a drink. This will also give you chance to socialise with other Seniors.
